RIDING IN MOROCCO: Linear circuit starting from Agdz, 69 km southeast of Ouarzazate and ending in a small grove called Ouled Driss.

Duration: 8 days / 7 nights - 6 days horseback riding trail

Day 1: Welcome at the airport in Ouarzazate and transfer to Agdz. Night at hotel.
Days 2 - 7: Horseback riding trail. Nights in the tent. Arriving at Ouled Driss in the early afternoon. Visitation of an old Ksar and a traditional museum. Transfer to Ouarzazate and night at the hotel.
Day 8: Transfer to the airport in Ouarzazate and return flight.

This tour mostly follows the Draa River, which is usually dried-out beyond Zagora because of the barrage upstream in the east of Ouarzazate.
But still the valley is very rich in palm groves, which border the riverbed almost to Djebel Bani, a massif that rises before the great Saharan desert. Apart from this green line of palms the countryside is desert-like and sparsely populated.

In the palm groves scattered gardens are enclosed with mud walls. In this arid landscape they appear heavenly and one can enjoy the fresh air and admire many old Ksours that emerge between the paradise gardens. The lush green colour of these gardens forms a strong contrast to the sandy colour of the desert and the bare mountains surrounding them. In the evening the sun projects beautiful and richly coloured shades on these mountain walls.

After crossing the Djebel Bani we immerse deeper and deeper in the desert where sand and rocks alternate, finally reaching a small grove called Ouled Driss, the end of our trip.

On this tour we frequently meet with the rural population, which allows us to discover their way of living in more depth for instance during a traditional mint tea.

Note: It is possible to combine the route of the Draa Valley with the route "Magic of the desert" over a period of 10 days on the horseback.
